Dedicated to sustainability

One of That Salad Place’s earliest goals was to promote, foster, and contribute to the ideals of conservation, recycling, and environmental responsibility. To this goal, we have elected to substitute our disposable items from the traditional petrol plastics to recyclable, bio-degradable plastic alternatives. All of our disposable items are gentler on the environment because they require fewer virgin resources to produce, and make diversion from landfills an option upon disposal.

OUR disposables

salad bowls

dressing cups

cutlery

Our bowls are made with PLA, a plant-based, 100% renewable plastic resource. Polylactic acid (PLA) or “corn plastic” is made from annually renewable resources, not oil.

PLA meets ASTM standards for compostability. Composting helps divert waste from landfills and is a great way to improve vital soil resources and divert waste that would otherwise be put into a landfill.

Our PLA products are compostable in commercial compost facilities, but unfortunately not in your home compost

Cups & Lids

Made from Ingeo™ bioplastic, these cups are 100% renewable and compostable. They’re made from crops that grow back every year, and they can be composted (where facilities exist) and returned to the soil to help new plants grow. They’re BPI certified compostable and ASTM compliant.

napkins

Our recycled brown napkins are naturally processed and have a rich earthy tone. Made from 90% post-consumer recycled fiber with a bleach-free process. EPA Compliant and 100% compostable.

bags

Our take away bags, unlike your traditional plastic bags, are actually compostable bags made of a biodegradable material. Unfortunately, they cannot be composted at home, but their impact on the environment is considerably lessened. Our bags, along with the rest of our products, can be composted at a commercial composting facility.
